And the results are in...

And the news wasn't what we were hoping for. They found a 2mm spot on my lower left lung. My doctor is not certain if it is tumor or inflammation or nothing. She wants to wait 8 weeks and then do another scan to see if it's 1. disappeared 2. grown bigger 3. stayed the same. If it's one Hooray! If it's two, we will reevaluate and decide then the course of action. It it's 3, we'll just continue to watch it and get a new scan in three months. So the ideal situation would be for it to go away and we won't have to worry about it again. But it is concerning since it wasn't there in November. So it's just a wait and see situation, which I hate. I was planning on going back to work next week, but now I'm not sure that's a great idea. I'd hate to go back to work for two months and then have to stop again for surgery or chemo and lose my disability money. So Jeff and I have some talking to do to decide what is better for me. I am feeling so much better and was getting myself psyched up to go back to work. I miss all my friends and the babies and the money! I'm up for any one's "two cents" if y'all want to let me know what you think I should do. (Shameless plug to get comments!) Anyway, that's about all I have for now.

CT Scan

I had my ct scan today. I'll have the results tomorrow and I'll be sure to let ya'll know what they are. I'm sure everything is fine.

Had a great time in Fredericksburg this weekend. Got to visit a lot of the family and got a lot of wedding stuff done. Very productive.

This is going to be short and sweet since I really don't have any results. I'll post tomorrow and it will be longer.

Still doing pilates. Still suck at it! But getting better.

Until tomorrow...

Update

I know it's been awhile since I posted. Just don't think there has been much of anything to write about. As you all read, Jeff's sister got engaged on New Year's Eve. The wedding date has been set for April 12, 2008! So we have a lot of planning to do in the next few months. I will be very busy until then.

I have not been to the movies in ages, but I have seen two movies since Saturday. I saw PS I love you with my friend Lisa on Saturday and then Lisa, Erin and I went and saw 27 Dresses yesterday. They were both really cute! Not sure the guys would agree, but the girls enjoyed them.

Anyway, that's about all. I've been keeping up with the pilates. My abs are sore everyday! I'm getting a little better each time I do it. Still waiting on my yoga dvd's to come in. I'm hoping they'll arrive today or tomorrow.

Pilates

Since I have been at home and not working, I have really gotten out of shape. Not that I really felt like working out during chemo or after my surgeries, but I decided that I need to do something active before I get out of hand. I know I should probably walk around the neighborhood, but it's WAY to cold for me to go out there! I hate being in the cold. So I got a few suggestions from people and I did my Pilate's DVD today. It was so much harder than I remember! I'll probably be sore tomorrow! But I'm going to try and stick with it. It's very good for flexibility, which I need desperately. My left leg (the one my original tumor was in) is very stiff and tight from lack of doing anything with it. My right leg is better, but not much. So I'm hoping that I can stick with this and gain some flexibility back. I also purchased 2 yoga DVDs online, so I will incorporate those into my schedule as well. I think the deep breathing will be very beneficial for me in more ways than one. I should get those in next week. So today is day one of my Pilate's and I'm going to try and do it every day. It only takes 20 minutes, which is not long at all! And I don't have to get dressed and go anywhere, which saves a lot of time. But anyway, that's about all I have for now. Oh, for those that are interested, our tv got fixed yesterday! Thank goodness! For those that didn't know, we have a dlp tv in the living room and the bulb burned out last Thursday afternoon and it took until yesterday afternoon to get it fixed. That was really hard for me to be at home and not have my big tv to watch! But I survived and I'm enjoying my tv again. Hopefully this bulb will last a lot longer than that first one.

Hope everyone has a great day! Don't freeze, I hear it's going to cold soon!

Birthday dinner

Here are a few pictures from our dinner at Babin's tonight. In them, you may notice that I am not wearing anything to cover my head. It's probably a little too soon to do this, but I figured, what the heck, today is as good a day as any. So without further ado, here are the pictures. Let me know what you think! I need comments!

Turning 30

Today is my birthday and I am officially 30 years old. I am feeling pretty good about it. My life is different than what I imagined it would be when I got to be 30, but I'm ok with that. You may have plans for yourself, but God sometimes has a different one and that's the one you have to live with. So now we are on his plan.

We are taking it pretty easy today. Jeff made me french toast for breakfast, which was very yummy. He got me a vanity stool for the bathroom and a magnifying mirror and some dvds and cds. Lots of good stuff! Tonight we are going to go out to eat with a group of friends. I think I want to go to Kemah and eat somewhere there. It's always nice when we go there. Anyway, it's a beautiful day out so go enjoy it, I know I will!

Doctor's visit

Yesterday I had follow ups with my surgeon and medical oncologist. The surgeon said I am doing great, healing well, and don't need to see him anymore unless I need more surgery. Yeah! That was great news. Then I saw my other doctor. It was kind of a wasted appointment because she can't really tell me anything until I have my next ct scan, which will be at the end of January. The chest xray looked fine, but the ct scan will be more in depth, so we can't really tell much right now. She doesn't anticipate me needing any more post op chemo, which is great news, also. So after my scans at the end of the month, (assuming they are negative), I'll probably head back to work. (Jeff is ready for me to go back now!) I'm just going to give my body a little more time to heal fully before going back to the infection ridden hospitals. Anyway, that's all the news I have for now. Oh, I think I fixed the Christmas pictures that were sideways. Thanks, Kasuen for the help!

Happy Anniversary!

6 years ago today, on a rainy, cold day in Baton Rouge, Jeff and I said "I do". I can't believe it's been 6 years, Jeff on the other hand, says, "It's only been 6 years? Seems like forever!" Ha! But seriously, today is the day that you remember your vows and what they mean to you. Jeff and I have lived through every one of them, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad. I can tell you which vows I prefer, but we've lived them all. And that's what makes you stronger as a couple. Hopefully you married folks won't have to test all the vows like we have, but if you do, remember why you said them in the first place and hold on to that. All right, enough of the sappy stuff. Today we packed up all the Christmas decorations and started cleaning up the house. I know, very fun to do on your anniversary. But tonight we are going to go out and have a nice dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. I'm looking forward to it, I think it will be very nice. Maybe we'll even take pictures. I know I owe ya'll some pictures on here. Hopefully I can get those up real soon. Keep checking!

Happy New Year!

Well, today is the second day of 2008 and hopefully everyone is having a great one so far. We arrived home from Fredericksburg around 7:30 last night. We had a great time there. Very relaxing. We got to see Jeff's brother and sister for a little bit. Congratulations are in order for Jeff's sister Carrie, she got engaged on New Year's Eve. We are all very excited for her!

Now an update on me. My shingles are all dried up, I still have a few scabs here and there, but for the most part, it is healed. I still itch quite a lot, but I figure that's better than pain, so I can live with it. My hair is growing in still, but not as fast as I'd like. It's still pretty thin. I'll have to wait until it's a little longer before I can go without any covering on my head. But we're getting close.

Our New Year's Resolutions will be for a Happier and Healthier one for Jeff and I. 2007 wasn't that great for us, so we're hoping that 2008 will be a lot better. Here's to everyone else having a great year, also!
