What's been happening-September

Since I have so much to catch up on, I thought the best thing to do would be to go month by month and update on what's happened in that month.

September 2014
The boys have been going to St. Christopher's Mother's Day Out since they were 3-6 months old, but Charlie is not eligible to start kindergarten this year, so we needed to find another school for him to attend.  I found a preschool right down the road called Happy Harbour that had a class T/W/Th from 9:30-1:30 that fit in perfectly with our schedule.  We still had Mondays and Fridays free to meet with friends or travel and allowed for me to get Teddy to/from St. Christopher's on T/Th at 10-2.  Charlie has really loved it at HH and the teachers keep telling me how sweet and kind he is. I'm hoping he keeps that up! He surprises me everyday with what he knows and remembers.  He is beginning to read, can do some basic addition, and has the memory of an elephant! Can't wait to see how much he knows by the end of the school year. Here he is on his first day of school:

Teddy started the week after Charlie did in the 3 year old class.  He has some friends in there from last year, which is nice.  One of his teachers was Charlie's teacher for 3 years, and after the first day she told me "Teddy is NOT Charlie!".  Haha!  No, no he is not.  Should be an interesting year! No pictures of Teddy on his first day.  He didn't want to take his picture.  Oh well!

We took our first road trip to Fredericksburg at the beginning of September.  We all survived! It was a little crowded in the Acadia, but we managed for a short weekend trip.  We may be in trouble if we have to go anywhere longer that a few days...

Harry turned 1 month old on September 14.  He is eating and pooping really well, sleeping was going well for awhile, but then we had some rough nights.  He is getting on more of schedule now which is nice.  Eating every 3 hours instead of every 2.  He's growing like a weed and looks like he may be tall.  At his 1 month checkup he was 9 lbs 13 oz (50%) and 22 in long (75%).  So he gained almost 2 lbs since birth.  Not bad!

I had my 5 year check up at MD Anderson on September 10-11.  I had an ultrasound on my left leg and a ct scan of my lungs.  At my doctor visit Friday (which the whole family attended), my doctor informed me I was cancer free! 5 years is a huge milestone! Then she proceeded to tell me about a lady she has known for a long time that has a Sarcoma Foundation.  They were interested in getting my story for a fundraiser, would that be ok? We told her sure, no problem.  So she would give the lady my email address and get some info from me.  Great! So on the way home from the hospital, I get a call from Missy, the lady in charge of the Sarcoma Foundation.  She told me "Congratulations! You have been chosen as this year's Sarcoma Survivor of the Year! And you will be honored at our annual fundraising gala in November." What?! My dr downplayed this and it came as a total surprise! So I had to send in a "bio" of my journey to them along with a picture(s) for the press releases and the program for the gala.  (Jeff was amazing and wrote up my bio.  Still waiting on feedback from the foundation. I'll post it once it gets approved). So when we got home I started doing a little research on this Foundation and the Gala.  It's a huge deal! Sponsored by Saks Fifth Avenue, Runway fashion show by Marchesa, tables of 10 from $5,000-$25,000!  Crazy! I am super excited to go and hope the foundation gets lots of money.

Now to find a dress for me and a suit for Jeff!

We're Back!

So it has been a very long time since I have posted anything and I want to get back into blogging again.  Obviously much has happened since the last time I posted anything, so I will do my best to get caught up.  The main change that has happened is this little guy joining our family:

Harry has inserted himself right into the family and we couldn't be happier! The boys love him so much and are great big brothers.  I'm enjoying that while it lasts! :) So I'm busier than ever with 3 kids now, I'm going to do my best to update this a lot more often.  I have lots of ideas of posts I need to write, so bear with me as I get this blog updated again.  Look forward to posts about Harry's birth, me being cancer free for 5 years, my new passion Young Living Essential Oils and everything in between! Stay tuned...
